About us

The Netherlands Heart Institute (NLHI) is a collaborative effort between the cardiology departments of all eight university medical centers in the Netherlands. The Hartenbank is part of the Netherlands Heart Institute (NLHI).

De missie van NLHI is om nieuwe strategieën te ontwikkelen voor het voorkomen, diagnosticeren en genezen van hart- en vaatziekten en om de samenwerking tussen de cardiologie-afdelingen van alle universitaire ziekenhuizen in Nederland te verbeteren.

De Hartenbank is part of the Netherlands Heart Institute, which has an ANBI-status.

For cardiac autopsies and diagnostics, we collaborate with the Expertise Centre for Postmortem Diagnostics at Amsterdam UMC.

The cardiac autopsy protocol was drawn up in collaboration with the national working group of cardiovascular pathologists.
